چکیده
The effects of corticomuscular connectivity during object manipulation tasks with different haptic sensations have not been quantitatively investigated. Connectivity analyses enable the study cortical and muscle responses movements, revealing communication pathways between brain muscles. This aims to examine three Electroencephalography (EEG) channels five muscles involving contact surfaces Sandpaper, Suede, Silk. included 12 healthy subjects performing their right hand. Power-Based (PBC) Mutual Information (MI) measures were utilized evaluate significant differences in surfaces, EEG channels, muscles, frequency bands. research yielded following findings: Suede surface exhibited higher connectivity; Mu Gamma bands exerted greater influence; was observed (C3, Cz, C4) Anterior Deltoid (AD) Brachioradialis (B) muscles; primarily involved active movement AD compared resting state. These findings suggest potential implementation motor rehabilitation for more complex movements using novel alternative training systems high effectiveness.

Expanding Haptic Workspace for Coupled-Object Manipulation
Haptic force-feedback offers a valuable cue in exploration and manipulation of virtual environments. However, grounding of many commercial kinesthetic haptic devices limits the workspace accessible using a purely position-control scheme. The bubble technique has been recently presented as a method for expanding the user’s haptic workspace. The bubble technique is a hybrid position-rate control ...
متن کاملContinuous State POMDPs for Object Manipulation Tasks
My research focus is on using continuous state partially observable Markov decision processes (POMDPs) to perform object manipulation tasks using a robotic arm. During object manipulation, object dynamics can be extremely complex, non-linear and challenging to specify. To avoid modeling the full complexity of possible dynamics, I instead use a model which switches between a discrete number of s...
متن کاملControl strategies in object manipulation tasks.
The remarkable manipulative skill of the human hand is not the result of rapid sensorimotor processes, nor of fast or powerful effector mechanisms. Rather, the secret lies in the way manual tasks are organized and controlled by the nervous system. At the heart of this organization is prediction. Successful manipulation requires the ability both to predict the motor commands required to grasp, l...
متن کاملContinuous Mental Effort Evaluation During 3D Object Manipulation Tasks Based on Brain and Physiological Signals
Designing 3D User Interfaces (UI) requires adequate evaluation tools to ensure good usability and user experience. While many evaluation tools are already available and widely used, existing approaches generally cannot provide continuous and objective measures of usability qualities during interaction without interrupting the user. In this paper, we propose to use brain (with ElectroEncephaloGr...
متن کاملEmbodied Information in Cognitive Tasks: Haptic Weight Sensations Affect Task Performance and Processing Style
Research in the field of embodied cognition showed that incidental weight sensations influence peoples' judgments about a variety of issues and objects. Most studies found that heaviness compared to lightness increases the perception of importance, seriousness, and potency. In two experiments, we broadened this scope by investigating the impact of weight sensations on cognitive performance. In ...
